Research Into Chosen Artist

The artists our group has decided upon is called 10,000 Flames, formed in 2001 by Rusty Honeycutt. The song we will be creating a music video for is called Can't Get Enough which is the first single off their self titled Album. The band consists of four members: Rusty Honeycutt on Vocals - Terry McCoy on Guitar - Aaron Nelms on Drums - Brad Tester on Bass. This arrangement is useful due to all of our group members being male. The band is from Johnson City, Tennessee,USA the majority of gigs they play are in America, which is a problem because we can't see them in person. The band has already created a make shift video for Can't Get Enough of them playing at a live gig in USA. Even though this could be a problem i believe its helpful in giving an incite to the way the band perform and act. We will not copy this video just because it was created by the artist for the same song, i believe we can make the video better, by giving it a narrative which the audience can follow emphasised by the lyrics, rather than just a live performance dubbed over the studio version.

Can't Get Enough

10,000 FLAMES MySpace Music Videos

With the band mainly touring in America and playing only small events, trying to get in personal contact with the band and seeing them live weren't possible. Instead I have tryed to make contact with the band via their MySpace Page to ask their permission for use of their song. I sent them this following message outlining the way i will be using the song and also offered for them to see the music video and album cover designs.

Hi 10,000 Flames

My name is Paul Blenkhorn and I am a final year student at Little Heath School, Reading.

For my media project I have been asked to create a promo video and cd packaging for a rock song.

I decided to start looking for a suitable song on unsigned.com and found your song Can't Get Enough. I thought it was excellent and would like to be able to use it for my studies.

My teacher has asked that I inform you, to make sure that you are ok with me using your song for my project. I will NOT use it for any commercial projects or post the promo video on youtube if you prefer, this will be purely used just for my studies.

I would of course, be more than happy to let you see the promo video and cd packaging if you would like to see the finished result.

Thanks

Paul
